Bomb Threat Shuts Down I-85 After Chaotic SC Traffic Stop

A bomb scare occurred in South Carolina this week, causing the closure of portions of Interstate 85.

 

Greenville County Sheriff’s Office shared information on Facebook this afternoon.

 

Greenville County Bomb Team and SWAT members are helping the SC State Transport Police near mile marker 42 of Interstate 85 Northbound. They requested assistance shortly after 3:30 pm following a traffic stop. We are working with State Transport Police in response to a report about a potentially hazardous device.

The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office announced the interstate would be reopened. They said it was safe.

 

The SC State Transport Police is holding the driver of the trailer.
