Freedom Caucus Backs Johnson Amid ‘Sincere Reservations’

Rep. Mike Johnson, R.-LA, was reelected Speaker of the House in the first round despite the drama.

The question was, how would those who didn’t like Johnson vote?

There was some drama in the vote. Jeffries received 215 votes and Johnson received 216. Massie Norman, and Self voted against Jeffries. After about 30 minutes, Johnson, Norman, and Self left to discuss how they could transfer their votes to Johnson from Jeffries.

Ralph Norman (R.TX), Keith Self (R.TX), and others who were hesitant “got general assurances” regarding the collaborative efforts of the GOP conference from Johnson and other Republicans.

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) remained against Johnson.

Andy Biggs, one of 11 House Freedom Caucus members who signed the letter, explained their reasons for voting in favor of the bill despite having reservations about Johnson. Chip Roy, Andy Harris, and Michael Cloud also wrote about how it was all down to Trump.

“Today we voted for Mike Johnson as speaker of the House because of our steadfast support of President Trump and to ensure the timely certification of his electors,” the group wrote.

We achieved it despite the reservations we had about the Speaker’s performance in the past 15 months.

They urged the House to move quickly on Trump’s agenda. They called on the House to work quickly on Trump’s agenda. ”

“We expect the House of Representatives to act quickly. ”

All of them worked together to pass Trump’s agenda. They will now work together to implement the agenda of the American people. Legislation can be passed quickly, and real reforms can occur.

If they stay together, they have the numbers needed to win. The Senate and the White House are also in our hands. Now is the time to make all the changes that have been long overdue and undo the damage Joe Biden and the Democrats have caused. They should all be working on restoring America.
