The United States Attorney-General Pam Bondi announced on Wednesday that the federal Department of Justice had filed charges against New York State, including against Governor Kathy Hochul and state officials such as Attorney General Letitia James, and Department of Motor Vehicles Commissioner Mark Schroeder.

AG Bondi said:

We are here because we filed charges today against the State of New York. We have also filed charges for Kathy Hochul, Letitia Jam, and Mark Schroeder, who works at DMV. We are a brand new DOJ and we’re taking steps to protect Americans and Angel Moms like the mother standing behind me, who will be speaking shortly. New York has decided to give illegal aliens priority over American citizens. It’s over – today.

Bondi alleged that New York officials and the state of New York violated federal immigration laws.

AG Bondi continued:

President Trump has directed this to stop. And if you don’t comply with federal law, we will hold you accountable. We did it to an Illinois strike one, strike two is New York. And if you are a state not complying with federal law, you’re next, get ready.

Bondi’s confirmation was just a week old; she had already taken control.

It shouldn’t be a surprise for any of the officials from blue states named in these suits. Tom “The Hammer”, the border czar, has been outspoken in his declaration that anyone who attempts to hinder federal officials from their task of finding, detaining, and repatriating undocumented aliens will face federal charges. Pam Bondi also seems to be taking this seriously. It’s right that President Trump made mass return an issue during his campaign. He spoke about it often and in great detail. Recent surveys show that a large percentage of Americans support this effort.

It is interesting to wonder how long it will be before AG Bondi turns her attention to other blue states, such as California. This state has the largest number of illegal aliens by a significant margin. California Assembly has already appropriated funds for illegal aliens to be housed. This could well be AG Bondi’s next legal battleground. Immigration is not a state issue, but a federal one, as Democrats claimed during the previous administration. Now the shoe is on the other foot.

We’re still winning, folks.
