Breaking: Hamas Promises Release of 6 Israeli Hostages This Saturday

Hamas’ top leader has announced that the militant group is releasing six Israeli hostages this Saturday, February 22nd.

Six hostages are set to be released in the first phase ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. Three hostages were expected to be released on Saturday.

Israel will receive the bodies of four dead hostages on Thursday before their release on Saturday.

Both sides must still negotiate the second, more difficult phase in which Hamas will release dozens of hostages for a permanent ceasefire and Israeli withdrawal.

Hamas leader Khalil Al-Hayya announced in a prerecorded statement on Tuesday.

The releases have come in exchange for hundreds of Palestinian prisoners held by Israel.
