TREACHERY: Anti-Trump CIA Agents Consider Leaking State Secrets to Foreign Powers

Leakers are a different breed. Some leaks can be justified. For example, whistleblowers who report legitimately evil practices by those in authority positions may technically be leaking information.

On the contrary, we found out on Monday that some Trump-hating employees at the Central Intelligence Agency are threatening to take classified intelligence information to foreign governments if their positions are threatened by the efforts of the Department of Government Efficiency — the DOGE.

There’s a word for it and it’s not pretty.

The CIA sent an unusual email to the White House earlier this month, in an attempt to comply with a federal executive order that required the reduction of the federal workforce. This list included CIA agents who were preparing for covert operations.

Wasn’t there a former Secretary of State who stored classified material on a non-classified, unsecured email server What was her name again?

The agency is now considering whether some of the employees listed in the email to the White House who were previously slated for covert deployments in sensitive locations overseas should now be held back or reassigned, sources familiar with the matter said, because the risk that their identity may have been exposed to foreign government hackers is too high.

This is, in fact, a valid concern. It is possible that leaked information can lead to the death of a CIA foreign intelligence officer (FIA). I had an old friend, who worked as a CIA (FIA0 for 30 years. He told me that “burning” was one of their greatest fears. That was something that could easily end in a prolonged and painful death.

This is the alarming part.

This person stated that “you can take any number of employees from the CIA or other intelligence agencies who have access to sensitive programs and are liable to be let go. That is by definition an insider’s risk.” You’re essentially gambling that they will honor their confidentiality agreement and not join a hostile intelligence agency.

This is not a question. These people took oaths. They had or have security clearances and the background checks that come with them. I know this because I have undergone a background investigation for a top-secret clearance. This act could be treason depending on the foreign government that these disgruntled former employees choose to go.

The Constitution specifically mentions treason. Article III, Section 3, Clause 1:

Treason is only committed against the United States if you wage war against them or if you adhere to their enemies, providing them with aid and comfort. A person cannot be found guilty of Treason without the testimony of two witnesses to the same overt act, or if they confess in an open court.

Under 18 USC Ch. 115: Treason, Sedition, and Subversive Activities, one can be sentenced to death for treason. It’s that serious.

Anyone who, while owing allegiance to the United States declares war on them or gives aid and comfort to their enemies in the United States and elsewhere is guilty of treason. They will be executed, or imprisoned for not less than 5 years, and fined up to $10,000 under this title.

It would be a good thing if leaking was the only thing that disgusted people.

It’s a new level of partisanship to threaten treason against a president you didn’t support. It’s difficult to believe that someone who is loyal enough to the United States and works in a crucial field such as this, whether they are a GS-5 or a senior FIO.

In the last few decades, we’ve seen many things that we would never have imagined ten years earlier. We should also note that the second term of Trump has already been plagued with leakers. If you take on a swamp then expect mud to get on your boots.

This would be a very troubling event. It would indicate that the corruption in the federal government runs much deeper and is more widespread than we had thought. It is unthinkable that someone in a high-ranking position, who has access to classified information and insight into national security issues, would commit such treachery.

Let’s hope this is the last time we hear about this possibility. As I have said before, the political landscape is a bit of a mystery at the moment. Right now things are going well, but the left is not to be underestimated.
