GOP Lawmaker from Blue State Goes Viral for Blowing the Lid Off Shocking Spending Plans!

The debate over California’s expenditure practices continues to cause waves across the country. One California Republican legislator is now going viral.

Assemblymember Carl DeMaio (R-San Diego) was among several Republican legislators who were removed from committees or had their assignments changed by the speaker of the House last week. DeMaio thinks his removal after just two hearings from the Budget Committee was intentional.

DeMaio said that he would not be deterred from telling the taxpayers of California the truth about their wasteful spending and the money they were laundering to left-wing groups.

He added, “We’ll expose you and let the public decide if that is what they would like to happen to their money.”

A spokesman from the office of Assembly Speaker Robert Rivas said the speaker “routinely addresses[es] the committee’s needs throughout the entire year. His goal is always to ensure the members are in the optimal role to collaborate and deliver results for Californians.”

KCRA reports that Republicans retained their vice-chair roles, and some Democrats also were kicked out of committees.

Democrats claim that some Republicans’ behavior in meetings is designed to distract for social media and undermines the meeting.

DeMaio’s recent questioning of California Officials has been a viral phenomenon, especially when it came to the budget. DeMaio prompted a response from a budget official in the state, revealing $9.5 billion was being spent on MediCal to cover illegal immigrants. This is more than the previous projection of $6 billion.

They were embarrassed. The story made national headlines. DeMaio stated that people were shocked to learn how much money was being given out for illegal immigrants’ healthcare in California.

Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency is also a possible option for the state to improve its processes.

DeMaio is also making the case that a “COVID-19 workplace outreach” program is being used to back left-leaning groups that do political work outside the scope of its namesake, according to the California Globe.

“In 2025, we are still spending $25 million in taxpayer money on a COVID-19 workplace education program. Isn’t that so 2020? This is completely unnecessary,” he said.

This scrutiny is part of a larger debate on the financial state of the Golden State for the next fiscal year. Gov. Gavin Newsom argues that his plan is balanced, while Republicans think it will lead to a deficit.

The budget that I am presenting to you is based on a two-year framework, not just a single year. This was an unprecedented attempt to deal with the shortfall in our budget. Newsom stated in January that there is still work to be done to keep California’s finances for the future.

DeMaio says that despite the mixed reviews and criticism, it is important to shine a light on California.

DeMaio stated, “The bad ideas which are coming into your state usually start in California.”

They use California to test their extreme leftist ideologies, then export them to other states and claim it is successful.
