Hakeem Jeffries Slams Greg Abbott’s “Election Delay” While Forgetting Democrats’ Own Tactics

Hakeem Jeffries (D) is a representative from New York. Nancy Pelosi, her chosen successor in the U.S. Capitol, has been unable to do his job well. Jeffries is proving to be unqualified to replace Nancy Pelosi, who ruled her caucus with an iron hand.

Jeffries is neither a good leader nor a talented politician. He appears weak in all areas, as he demonstrated recently when he was willing to let his Senate colleague, Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (DNY), take the entire blame for the Democrat Party.

You may recall that Schumer was smited by Hades (a/k/a, the left) after he voted for the continuing resolution (CR), which President Trump backed and kept the government running. Even if Trump’s policies benefit the American people, it is worse for a Democrat to align with him. Schumer’s detractors were swift and vicious.

This is what Jeffries looked like:

He was not about to take any responsibility for his part in the downward spiral of his party.

Jeffries may not have been able to do much to stop the CR, as Republicans only hold a narrow majority in the House. After the Florida special elections earlier this week, the Republicans now have a 220-213 majority. But he is a man who has the backbone and the air of authority of a chocolate croissant.

Jeffries, who is reeking with hypocrisy this week as he rants about his party’s continued 213-seat House majority and rails against Texas Governor Greg Abbott over the slow-walking of the special election for Rep. Sylvester Turner(D-TX), a Texas Democrat who died in March. Jeffries would love to get that vote back, but Gov. Abbott doesn’t seem to be in a hurry to grant Jeffries his wish.

“Slow walking.” Have we been hearing that phrase lately? You’d be right if you said that the Democrat Party was working to delay a presumed special election for Rep. Elise Stefanik, who was expected to resign to become Trump’s ambassador to the United Nations. Stefanik was not nominated by President Trump because of the slim GOP majority. However, Democrats have made it clear that they are committed to delaying elections.

As a recap, after Trump announced in November that he would make Elise Stefanik the U.N. Ambassador, Democrats led by New York Governor Kathy Hochul began devising a way to delay a Special Election as long as they could to keep the Republican House Majority as narrow as possible. New York’s state legislature passed a law empowering the governor to schedule special elections to coincide with general elections. If Stefanik had resigned, Democrats could have waited until the next general elections to replace her.

Guess who backed this plan to deny GOP their seat with full force? Hakeem Jeffries, that’s the answer.

The New York Times reported last week that House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, a Democrat hailing from Brooklyn, had urged Hochul to make this change in order to save the Stefanik Seat.

A spokesperson for Jeffries told the Times previously that he was in favor of changes to improve election efficiency. Andy Eichar, a spokesperson for Jeffries, said on Monday that “instead of whining over a good government law change, which is still under consideration by lawmakers, why don’t you do something about Elon Musk taking the bank account and social security number of the people who they claim to be representing?”

Rep. Jeffries has changed his mind now that it is his party that needs a quick election. It’s funny. He’s so angry at Abbott that he threatens to sue. They love the judiciary, don’t you?

Jeffries, in response to a Wednesday question from NBC News, said that it is “very probable” that Democrats would pursue legal action against Abbott. Abbott has not yet set a date to hold an election to replace Rep. Sylvester Turner, who passed away in early March.

Jeffries replied, “Yes,” when asked if he believed Abbott deliberately delayed the special election in Texas’ solidly Democratic 18th District.

He’s not so fond of the “slow-walk” anymore, is he now?

Andrew Mahaleris (Press Secretary for Abbott) commented that announcing a special election would be done at a later time, despite a warning by Texas Democratic Party Chair Kendall Scudder.

Hakeem Jeffreys would be able to see how silly he is if he had any self-awareness. But he does not. Self-awareness, however, is not a defining characteristic of democratic leadership today. Jeffries is still out of his depth when it comes to leadership. Expect more whining and lawsuits.
