Huckabee Begins Tenure as U.S. Envoy to Israel in High-Stakes Role

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, the United States ambassador to Israel, presented his credentials to President Isaac Herzog during a Monday ceremony at the President’s Residence in Jerusalem.

Herzog welcomed Huckabee and highlighted the deep-rooted relationships between the two countries. The president praised the Arkansan for his long-standing support of Israel, saying that the U.S.-Israel alliance was stronger than ever.

Huckabee expressed his gratitude in his remarks for the opportunity to serve. He recalled his first trip to Israel, which took place more than 50 years ago. He said, “This is an honor of the highest order.” “I am looking forward to working with you to strengthen our strategic partnership.”

Huckabee emphasized U.S.-Israel cooperation on intelligence, security, and innovation while warning about the shared threat posed by Iran.

Miriam Adelson was among the dignitaries who attended this event broadcast live by Israel’s Government Press Office. Huckabee’s confirmation by the U.S. Senate was made earlier this month.
