Donald Trump laughed on Monday when he heard that former President Barack Obama was considering a run for a third term. He then dismissed the idea.
Peter Doocy, a Fox News correspondent, asked Trump: “It’s hypothetical, but if for some reason you are allowed to run for a third term, do you think Democrats might try to run Barack Obama as your opponent?”
Trump responded from the Resolute desk, “That’d be a great one, I’d like that.”
No, people are encouraging me to run. There’s a whole discussion about a third term—I don’t know; I’ve never looked into it. Some say there’s a way to do it, but I’m not sure about that. I haven’t explored it. Right now, I just want to do an outstanding job. There’s still nearly four years to go.
