Sexual Assault Reports in U.S. Military Fall, Army Sees Biggest Decline

The left wants you to believe that our armed forces are plagued by an epidemic of sexual violence, but the facts tell a different story. Let’s break this down logically and examine what the data shows.

The number of reported sexual assaults in the U.S. military decreased by nearly 4% last year. This isn’t just a blip; it’s the second consecutive year of decline. Now, the left will try to argue that any number above zero is unacceptable, and while that’s a nice sentiment, it’s not grounded in reality. The fact is, we’re seeing a reversal of a trend that has concerned the Defense Department for over a decade.

The Army, our largest military branch, saw a significant 13% drop in reported assaults. This is crucial because it demonstrates that targeted efforts to address this issue can and do work. The left loves to paint our military as some kind of regressive, hypermasculine cesspool, but the data clearly shows that’s not the case.

The Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps saw slight increases. But here’s where the logic breaks down for the left’s argument. If there were truly a systemic problem of assault being ignored or covered up, we wouldn’t see these variations. We’d see uniformly high or increasing numbers across the board.

Statistically speaking, the overall decrease is a positive sign. But let’s be clear: the goal isn’t just to reduce numbers, it’s to ensure justice. And that’s exactly what we’re seeing. The number of cases where misconduct was substantiated increased, as did discharges and administrative actions against alleged perpetrators. Court-martial convictions are up.

The left’s position on military justice is, frankly, ridiculous. They pushed for removing commanders from the prosecution process, claiming it would lead to more justice for victims. But the data doesn’t support this. It’s too early to tell if these changes have had any significant impact. What we do know is that the military has been implementing a series of changes and investing over $1 billion in prevention programs. That’s the kind of concrete action that makes a difference.

Sexual assault is a complex issue, and it’s not unique to the military. The left wants to use it as a cudgel to attack our armed forces and push their agenda of social engineering in the military. But the facts show that the military is taking this seriously and making progress. The idea that our military leadership doesn’t care about this issue is a bold-faced lie.

In conclusion, the data clearly shows a downward trend in military sexual assaults, increased accountability, and substantial investment in prevention. The left can continue to virtue signal all they want, but they can’t refute these facts. Our military remains the greatest fighting force in the world, committed to both excellence and justice.
