Bloomberg reported that the newly elected Canadian Prime minister Mark Carney will meet President Donald Trump in the White House on Tuesday, May 6th.
Carney, a conservative, defeated Pierre Polievre to succeed Justin Trudeau in the Monday elections.
Although the specifics of the conversation were not revealed, it is expected that tariffs and Trump’s interest in Canada becoming the 51st State will be discussed.
Carney’s victory speech stated, “As I have warned for months, America wants to take our land, resources, water and our country. These aren’t idle threats. President Trump wants to destroy us so that America can take us over. This will never happen. We must also acknowledge that the world we live in has fundamentally changed.”
