FBI Director Kash Patel has reportedly disclosed documents containing allegations of interference by the Chinese Communist Party in the 2020 election. These documents have been submitted to Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Chuck Grassley, a Republican from Iowa, for further review.
The documents contain allegations that the Chinese government mass-produced counterfeit U.S. driver’s licenses as part of a plot to submit fraudulent mail-in ballots for the then-Democratic nominee, Joe Biden. However, these intelligence reports, dating back to August 2020, were not immediately investigated.
This development follows earlier reports that Christopher Wray, then the Director of the FBI, testified that there were no known foreign interference plots before the 2020 election. Concurrently, Senator Grassley has expressed concerns that these intelligence reports were dismissed rather than thoroughly vetted.
Reports indicate that the FBI has a confidential source who had informed in 2020 about the Chinese government’s production and export of counterfeit U.S. driver’s licenses. The alleged intention was to enable Chinese residents in the United States to create false identities and vote with counterfeit mail-in ballots to benefit Biden.
According to reliable sources, U.S. Customs and Border Protection had intercepted approximately 20,000 counterfeit licenses by the time the intelligence report was made. Furthermore, multiple reports from 2020 revealed that CBP officials had seized nearly 20,000 fake driver’s licenses at the Chicago airport through the end of June 2020. Yet, the report was recalled, and the allegations were never made public.
Fox News 5 in New York reported that most of the shipments of counterfeit licenses originated from Hong Kong and mainland China, with others coming from South Korea and the United Kingdom. The CBP stated that most of the fake IDs were crafted for college-age students, with many bearing the same photos but different names.
This raises important questions about the integrity of the 2020 election and the potential influence of foreign interference. As this story continues to unfold, it is crucial to stress the importance of accuracy and truth. The public’s right to information is paramount.
