Trump Seeks $9.4B in Cuts to Foreign Aid and Public Media

President Donald Trump has just delivered to Congress a whopping $9.4 billion rescissions package, targeting fiscal fat in foreign aid and public media funding. And let me tell you, it’s about time we had a president with the guts to do this! But of course, the drive-by media won’t tell you this part. They’d rather keep you in the dark about the Trump administration’s successful push to cut the size of our bloated government.

This package includes an impressive $8.3 billion in cuts from foreign aid programs and another $1.1 billion from public broadcasting. There’s more where that came from. The GOP, who currently hold majorities in both the House and Senate, can pass this with a simple majority. But as usual, there’s some squabbling going on within the party. Some folks are still debating the size and scope of government spending. It’s high time they got on board with the program!”

This is about fiscal responsibility and keeping our promises to the American people, as House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., so eloquently pointed out. We’re on a mission here, folks, to eliminate wasteful spending and bring some much-needed accountability to the budget process.

The White House Office of Management and Budget has listed some critical cuts in the rescissions package. For example, we’re talking about putting a stop to funding for questionable climate adaptation projects, like an absurd $614,700 for coral reef restoration in the Caribbean and a ridiculous $500,000 for electric buses in Rwanda.

The Trump administration is considering using a tool known as impoundment. This allows the president to withhold spending without needing congressional approval – a clear sign of Trump’s commitment to fiscal discipline. And the left is losing their minds over it.

Meanwhile, the National Public Radio and the Public Broadcasting Service are trying to sue the administration over an executive order to defund the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. Sounds like sour grapes to me, folks.

And you can bet the Democrats are up in arms about these rescissions. ‘If Republicans choose to go along with this rescission package, they will follow Trump at their peril,’ whined Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., in a joint statement. Well, folks, I say let them whine. It’s just more proof that the left cannot stand the idea of fiscal responsibility.”

This is why we need more conservatives in Washington. To continue the fight for smaller government and fiscal responsibility. No matter what the drive-by media tells you.
