President Donald Trump has sharply criticized Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., following her call for the President’s impeachment over his recent order of strikes against Iran’s Fordo nuclear facility.
The President’s response to Ocasio-Cortez’s impeachment proposition was broadcast on his Truth Social platform. He referred to the Congresswoman as one of the “dumbest” people in Congress and expressed disbelief at her call for impeachment, considering the Democrats have previously initiated this process twice.
In the aftermath of Saturday’s airstrikes on Iran, Ocasio-Cortez declared the President’s decision a serious violation of the Constitution and Congressional War Powers. She warned of the potential for a lasting conflict, describing the President’s actions as “absolutely grounds for impeachment.”
President Trump extended his criticism to other left-wing colleagues, including Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., and Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas. The President also suggested that Ocasio-Cortez should refocus her efforts on her home district in Queens, New York.
President Trump has already faced two impeachment hearings, the second of which occurred after he left office. In both instances, the Senate did not find him guilty. It has been reported that many Republicans are concerned that the Democrats could potentially initiate a third impeachment if they gain control of the House in the 2026 midterms.
Rep. Ocasio-Cortez and her Democratic colleagues are facing the lowest poll numbers in Congressional history. Despite this, President Trump concluded his response with a challenge, inviting the Democrats to attempt another impeachment.
