Vice President JD Vance has come out swinging in defense of President Trump amid criticisms from the right flank, most notable among them being Tucker Carlson, who’s not so keen about us getting embroiled in Israel’s tussle with Iran.

Vance is singing Trump’s praises for his consistent, decade-long stance that Iran will not, under any circumstances, possess a nuclear weapon. He’s gone so far as to push his foreign policy team into a corner to strike a deal with the Iranians to ensure this objective. Trump has made it crystal clear that Iran cannot and WILL NOT enrich uranium. No ifs, buts, or maybes.

According to Vance, Iran could very well enjoy the benefits of civilian nuclear power sans enrichment, but has rejected this outright. “They’ve enriched uranium far above the level necessary for any civilian purpose,” Vance ADMITTED, pointing out that they’ve been found guilty of flouting their non-proliferation obligations by none other than the International Atomic Energy Agency.

Vance does have a point. I’ve yet to see a single good argument, one that holds water, as to why Iran is hell-bent on enriching uranium beyond civilian use and why it feels justified in violating its nonproliferation obligations. It’s demonstrably absurd.

Vance applauds the remarkable restraint Trump has shown in ensuring our military’s focus remains on protecting our troops and citizens. He states unequivocally that the decision to take further action to halt Iranian enrichment rests squarely with the president. And he’s right. That’s exactly what our Commander-in-Chief is tasked with.

He also acknowledges that skepticism about America getting sucked into another foreign conflict is justified but firmly believes Trump has earned trust on this issue. “I can assure you that he is only interested in using the American military to accomplish the American people’s goals,” Vance stated.

Kiersten Pels, the bigwig press secretary for the Republican National Committee, reminded everyone that Trump has said over 40 times on the campaign trail and more than a dozen times since assuming office that Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon. She also emphasized Trump’s unwavering commitment to protecting the American people from potential harm.

And Trump has his eyes on the prize – peace and an end to violence in the Middle East. He believes, as we all do, that Iran would be foolish to turn down a deal, especially after he generously gave them 60 days to reach an agreement back in April. They failed, and now they’re reaping the consequences.
