Senate Democrats, you know, the same ones constantly screaming about spending, are now complaining about a ‘$21.7 billion blunder.’
They’ve released a fancy 55-page report where they claim that DOGE, instead of saving money with spending reductions and staff cuts, has wasted $21.7 billion. And they say this ‘despite its ostensible goal of eliminating government waste.’
They’re blaming Trump’s Deferred Resignation Program (DRP) for costing Americans $14.8 billion. They say this was wasted by paying approximately 200,000 employees not to work for up to eight months. But what about the decades of over-bloated bureaucracy that’s kept these folks on the payroll unnecessarily?
They’re also blaming Elon Musk, the former DOGE leader, claiming that with Musk at the helm, DOGE sought to ‘move fast and break things.’
Isn’t ‘breaking things’ exactly what’s needed? Aren’t we all sick and tired of the status quo? And since when did Democrats care about spending?
They’re claiming DOGE has been good at breaking but not so good at fixing. They say by prioritizing ‘disruption over governance,’ DOGE has created its forms of waste. But isn’t that just Democrat speak for ‘change we don’t like’?
The DOGE website shows overall savings to date of $199B, averaging $1,236.02 savings per U.S. taxpayer. That’s real money, but Democrats are more interested in scaremongering.
They’re saying people will die. ‘Globally, the shuttering of USAID is projected to result in more than 14 million additional deaths by 2030,’ they claim. All this to sell their narrative of fear and keep their own pockets lined.
