Deadly Farmhouse Blast Kills Three Officers During Eviction Attempt

In a deliberate and calculated attack against law enforcement, three Italian Carabinieri officers were murdered when suspects triggered a gas explosion during an attempted eviction near Verona, Italy. The premeditated nature of the attack is further supported by the discovery of petrol bombs on the property. Verona prosecutor Raffaele Tito classified the incident as a “premeditated and voluntary homicide,” noting that officers reported hearing the distinctive sound of gas cylinders being opened moments before the explosion.

In addition to the three officers killed in the line of duty, the blast injured 15 others, including 11 Carabinieri members, three state police officers, and one firefighter. Two suspects were immediately apprehended at the scene, while a third attempted to flee but was quickly captured. All three have been hospitalized and will face serious criminal charges.

Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi acknowledged that authorities were aware of the potential for resistance but emphasized that law enforcement had no choice but to execute the lawful eviction order. This incident highlights the increasing dangers faced by law enforcement officers who must enforce the law despite growing anti-police sentiment and violent resistance.

The farmhouse, which had no electricity and was in severe disrepair, had become a focal point of local concern.
