The facts are indisputable. Joe Biden’s catastrophic withdrawal from Afghanistan did not merely arm terrorists abroad. It brought them directly into American communities, and the consequences are now playing out in real time.

Two recent incidents demonstrate the magnitude of this national security failure. National Guard troops Sarah Beckstrom and Andrew Wolfe were shot by an Afghan national who entered the country through Biden’s expedited refugee program. Within 24 hours of that attack, Texas law enforcement arrested Mohammad Dawood Alokozay, another Afghan national, after he posted a TikTok video showing himself building a bomb and threatening to use it in the Fort Worth area.

The timing is significant. These near-simultaneous incidents suggest either coordination or a triggering event that activated multiple individuals. What connects them is undeniable: both perpetrators were fast-tracked into America under “Operation Allies Welcome,” Biden’s rushed Afghan resettlement program that prioritized speed over security.

This was entirely predictable. In fact, it was predicted. Emails obtained during the Biden administration reveal direct orders to fill evacuation planes with Afghan nationals without proper vetting. Troops on the ground at the time expressed shock at the administration’s failure to conduct basic security screenings before bringing these individuals onto American soil.

The Biden administration knew the risks. They proceeded anyway. Then they lied about it.

Alejandro Mayorkas, Jen Psaki, and Joe Biden himself repeatedly assured Americans that the program was safe and secure. Those assurances have proven catastrophically false. According to recent reporting, approximately 6,800 Afghan nationals admitted under this program have been flagged on national security grounds since 2021. Of those, 5,005 raised national security concerns, 956 triggered public safety warnings, and 876 were flagged for fraud.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt correctly identified the scope of the problem: “The magnitude of the national security crisis Joe Biden unleashed on our country over the span of four years cannot be overstated. President Trump has directed his entire team to continue rooting out this evil within our borders.”

The left’s predictable response has been to blame the current administration for Biden’s failures. This deflection ignores basic chronology and causation. These individuals entered the country under Biden’s watch, through Biden’s program, despite Biden’s assurances that proper vetting was occurring.

The chaotic Afghanistan withdrawal itself armed the Taliban with billions of dollars in American military equipment. That disaster alone represented one of the greatest foreign policy failures in modern American history. But the decision to compound that failure by importing thousands of unvetted individuals from a terrorist-controlled nation elevated the crisis from foreign policy catastrophe to domestic security threat.

This is not hindsight analysis. Conservative voices raised these exact concerns in real time as the evacuation unfolded. The warnings were dismissed as fearmongering or xenophobia. Those warnings have now been vindicated by American blood.

The question now is accountability and remediation. How many more individuals admitted under this program pose threats to American communities? What systems failed to prevent known security risks from entering the country? Who made the decision to prioritize optics over safety?

President Trump has directed his administration to identify and remove threats that entered during the Biden years. This effort deserves full support and adequate resources. The American people were promised a secure vetting process. They received security theater instead. The consequences are measured in wounded National Guard members and bomb threats in Texas cities.

This represents a fundamental betrayal of the government’s primary responsibility: protecting American citizens. No amount of political spin can obscure that basic failure.
