Sanctuary cities have created a bizarre parallel universe where local officials think they can simply opt out of federal law enforcement. They can’t, legally speaking. But they’ve convinced themselves and their constituents that resistance equals righteousness.

The result? Chaos when federal authorities finally step in to do what local officials refuse to support. Riots in the streets. Calls for cabinet secretaries to resign. Government shutdowns over funding disputes.

All because some cities decided immigration law doesn’t apply to them.

What Victory Actually Looks Like

Here’s what gets lost in all the noise. The policies Noem is implementing and defending are working. Border crossings at a 55-year low isn’t an accident.
