To construct a border wall, the State purchased large quantities of 30-foot wall panels from Biden Administration. These materials were obtained from federal contracts that were cancelled in January 2021.

Governor Abbott said that Texas is the first state to have built a border wall. “A lot of our border wall is being constructed by border wall material for which there was a contract. Texas purchased it from contractors who made the wall for Donald Trump. The exact same wall is being built.”

“In addition, many people saw on TV a lot these border wall components such as this that were just lying on the ground, which taxpayers had paid,” said the governor. “Biden decided not to build the wall.”

Abbott explained that he found a way to get the border wall panels from Texas by looking through the surplus program. Biden was not aware of it. He stopped Texas from obtaining it. We may find other ways to get it.

The panels seemed to cover an entire acre.

The governor stated that the initial parts of the Texas project were constructed on state-owned land. Ranch owners will provide the new sections.

Abbott stated that Texas is not required to use eminent Domain. “People who have property at the border are so mad against the Biden administration and so frustrated by the chaos created on their property, they are giving us an easy access to build the border wall.”

Because Texas has both the land and the materials, the wall can be built faster than President Trump’s.

He stated, “The bottom line is that the border wall panels Biden was allowing on the ground will remain up and protecting and secure the Great State of Texas.”
