According to a forthcoming book, President Biden was angry and cursed repeatedly over the border crisis as illegal immigrants continued to flock to the overwhelmed southern border.
Chris Whipple, author of “The Fight of His Life” describes Biden’s anger as his administration tried to control the raging border crisis in 2021. There was a historic surge and growing criticism of his administration.
“Instead, illegal immigrants continued to arrive. The book states that Biden was furious. “Aides had never seen him so mad.” “Aides had never seen him so angry.”
Whipple was told by a senior advisor that frustration stemmed from “lackof solutions.”
The adviser stated, “It’s almost like, ‘How would I feel if these were your solutions?'”
Whipple writes in another section of the book that the crisis at the border was what made Biden’s blood boil.
Whipple also described Biden as being “on a brief fuse” in a separate issue late in the year.
The book states that “early in his term, he had reserved f-bomb mainly for discussions of southern border but he was now using it more often.”
The book will go on sale Jan. 17. Biden described Kamala Harris, Vice President, as a “work-in-progress” once again.
In FY 2021, there were over 1.7 million migrant encounters, and more that 2.3 million in FY 20,22. The border has witnessed multiple months of well above 200,000 encounters.
Biden’s administration has praised a whole-of government approach to Central America, which Harris led. It also encouraged cooperation with Western Hemisphere nations and the restoration of legal asylum pathways it claims were destroyed by Trump.

Republicans have criticized the Trump administration for removing Trump-era border security measures, including the Migrant Protection Protocols (or the construction of the wall at the southern border), and other issues. It was also criticised for its attempts to make interior enforcement more focused on criminals and border-crossers. Republicans accuse the Biden administration, which has lowered enforcement and allowed more migrants to enter the interior, of encouraging immigration.
This month, the crisis is being highlighted against the backdrop of the possible end to Title 42, a public health order that has been used to expel thousands of migrants from the border.
A federal court ordered the Biden administration to stop following this policy. The order was to expire Wednesday. However, it has been temporarily blocked by the U.S. Supreme Court due to a lawsuit filed by a coalition of GOP-led States.
While the administration is requesting more funding from Congress, it acknowledges that there will be an even greater surge if and when this order expires. The administration has stated that it has a six point plan to address the surge and urged Congress to reform what it called a broken immigration system.
