Texas Takes Stand to Safeguard Children from Influences of the Transgender Industry

Published on

In June, Texas Governor Gregg Abbott signed Senate Bill 14 into law. This will protect thousands of Texas children from the so-called “gender-affirming care” that can be irreversible, and cause infertility, and other health issues.

As a result of the law, Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, the largest pediatric healthcare provider in the country, is now prohibited from offering “gender-modification” procedures to minors. Three other large pediatric hospitals are also prohibited from performing these barbaric practices.

The law is set to take effect on September 1. Texas has joined 17 other states in protecting children against being used as guinea pigs by the transgender movement. A study by Sex Matters, a nonprofit organization in the UK, found that “gender-affirming care” is “no more than a placebo.”

The new Texas law bans surgeries that result in sterilization by removing reproductive tissues, as well as mastectomies performed on girls to make them look more masculine. The law prohibits prescriptions of drugs that cause infertility such as hormones of a different sex and also the removal of healthy parts.

The Williams Institute on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Law and Public Policy estimate that approximately 30,000 Texas teens between 13 and 17 have gender identity disorder. According to studies, up to 90% of teenagers who “identify as transgender” but aren’t encouraged (socially or by medical professionals) to transition will not identify as such as adults.

This is a large number of children who will be saved from the transgender business, which offers enormous profits to a medical professional. Transgender surgery is expected to reach $5 billion in the next decade.

Texas’s decision to ban these procedures for children is great, but the sad truth is that these hospitals won’t be performing them anymore because the new law makes it illegal. It will undoubtedly be challenged. There are plenty of states controlled by radical leftists where the transgender business will thrive.
