Happy talk can be dangerous because it leads to death. People believe stupid things when they hear happy talk. Leaders tend to believe things they want to. It is their job to do the exact opposite, especially when it comes to national security. Foreign policy should be left to cold-eyed people who can make the right decisions even when it’s hard.
Politics tends to attract those who have starry-eyed visions, or cowards that will hide their cowardice behind those visions.
These days, it’s difficult to tell who President Joe Biden really is.
Biden’s position is changing as Israel’s fight against Hamas continues. And make no mistake: the war will continue until Hamas has been utterly destroyed. Biden made a lot of good sounds. He expressed his support for the deposing of Hamas, and he correctly stated that Israel faces a challenging task to do so while minimizing civilian casualties.
He seems to have shifted his position after being pushed by the radical Left-wing media and young, stupid staffers.
Biden is increasingly falling prey to the propaganda efforts of the traditional media. These include four claims: that Hamas may not be as bad as they claim; that Israel’s record is worse than what it appears; that Israel should make concessions to the Palestinian Authority to defeat Hamas, and that Biden’s election prospects depend on believing these first three claims.
All four of these claims are false.
Hamas’s reputation isn’t as bad as it seems.
Hamas is a prime example of Holocaust denial in action. It’s shocking to see. Rewriting history involves outright lies – the lie that Israeli helicopters killed people at the Supernova Music Festival and not Hamas – as well as obfuscation. “Do you have tapes of Israeli women being sexually abused, or just medical reports about their broken pelvises?” Hamas has been portrayed as being a rational group since they are releasing hostages. This is absurd and ugly.
Next, there is claim number 2. The second claim is that Israel shares some moral similarities with Hamas. This claim is usually expressed as a suggestion that Israel “carpet bombs” Gaza or uses “indiscriminate firepower” to attack Gaza. That’s ridiculous. Israel warns weeks in advance before attacking sites. Israel uses “knock-bombs” to empty out the buildings. Israel allows Hamas terrorists a chance to blend into the civilian population rather than kill too many civilians. Israel is more cautious than any army of modern times. Israel is also dealing with a terrorist organization hiding in an urbanized area. This means that civilian casualties are likely to be high.
There’s also claim number 3. Israel should make concessions to the Palestinian Authority to curb Hamas. Thomas Friedman is a simpleton who writes a foreign policy column for the New York Times. He has never encountered an Israeli concession that he did not like. He writes that “a revamped Palestinian Authority will be the keystone of forces for moderation, coexistence, and decency.” You must be a complete idiot to believe that. From the beginning, the PA viewed the Oslo Accords as a Trojan Horse. Their leadership has said so. Yasser Arafat stated in 1994 that he did not consider the Oslo agreement to be more important than the agreement signed by our Prophet Muhammad with Quraish. This agreement was the precursor to the massacre of the Quraish Tribe of Mecca, a few short years after Mohammed had signed a false agreement for peace.
There’s also the last claim: Biden’s electoral future is at risk because Israel is fighting to eliminate Hamas.
This is also a lie. There is no data to support the claim that Biden’s electoral troubles were caused by the Gaza War. According to RealClearPolitics’ average polling, Biden had 44% of the vote against Donald Trump on Oct. 7. He’s now riding at 45%. On Oct. 7, he had a 40.5% approval rating; today, he has a 40.4% approval rating. He’s not popular.
Biden may fall victim to these lies because of his desperation. In that case, Biden would not only be a danger to himself, but also to Israel and the West. If there’s anything that America’s enemies like, it’s happy talking.
