Fani Willis Faces Firestorm Over $654K Contract With Lawyer Lover, Reveals Shocking Legal Filing

Published on

Michael Roman, who is one of 18 co-defendants involved in Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’s Racketeer-Influenced and Corrupt Organisations (RICO), a case that centers on former President Donald J. Trump and also includes him, filed an explosive motion yesterday.

He claimed the indictment she secured against him on August 14 was unconstitutional because the lawyer she subcontracted to investigate RICO charges, Nathan Wade, is her lover.

Roman asks the court to dismiss his indictment and disqualify Willis. The Atlanta Constitution Journal summarized the case as follows:

The explosive public filing claimed that Nathan Wade, who is a private attorney and a special prosecutor, used the Fulton County funds received by his law firm to pay for extravagant vacations with Willis. Records from Fulton County show that Wade has received nearly $654,00 in legal fees for his prominent role in the case of election interference. The DA approves his compensation.

The motion filed by defendant Michael Roman, a Trump campaign official who was charged with obstruction of justice, asks that the charges be dismissed and that Willis, Wade, and the entire DA’s office are disqualified from prosecuting the case.

Pallavi Baily, a Willis spokesperson, said that the DA’s Office will respond to Romans’ allegations “through appropriate legal filings”. Wade did not respond immediately to a comment request.

Roman, who organized alternative electors to respond to irregularities in the state handling of 2020 presidential election, filed a motion at the Fulton County Superior Court, at 4:42 pm.

Roman alleges in the 127-page complaint that Wade, who, according to the AJC, filed for divorce a day after being appointed as district attorney on November 1, 2021, was not an authorized agent of the district prosecutor because the Fulton County Board of Supervisors had not approved the appointment.

Wade’s divorce proceedings were sealed on February 10, 2020. However, Roman’s team of lawyers learned that Willis & Wade took their relationship on the roads as well as the waves.

Undersigned counsel learned that Willis, Wade, and their families have traveled together in places such as Napa Valley California, Florida, and the Caribbean. Wade purchased tickets on the Norwegian and Royal Caribbean cruise lines for them both. Wade purchased hotel rooms on his trips using funds that were received from Willis’s contract.

The district attorney and special prosecutor were also seen together in the Atlanta area (in an intimate relationship capacity). It is believed that they cohabited at some point in a place neither of them owned. According to sources close to the special prosecutor as well as the district attorney, Willis and Wade were in a romantic and personal relationship throughout the divorce proceedings of Wade.

Roman was a Republican operative, and opposition research expert and worked at the Trump White House under White House Counsel Don McGahn.
