Elon Musk, a billionaire who simultaneously panders for the CCP and preaches liberty at home, is receiving the seal of approval from the world’s most repressive dictatorship: the Chinese Communist Party.
Musk has a history of contradictory behavior. He emphasizes free speech, other American values, and other liberties at home while making amends to the CCP, the government that holds the worst record in the world for free speech, other liberties, and other freedoms. Musk bought Twitter to save free speech but then hired a CEO who has posted repeatedly about her efforts at censorship on the platform. Musk is willing to compromise his principles when it comes to making more money. This is evident in his dealings with the CCP.

Li called Tesla’s growth in China a successful example of China-US trade and economic cooperation. Premier Li noted that foreign-funded companies are essential participants and contributors to China’s growth and that China’s huge market will be always open to them…Analysts stated that the fact that Tesla along with other Chinese EV manufacturers passed the data security test showed that the Chinese Government supports the security compliance efforts of foreign companies in emerging industries.
According to a Chinese industry association, Tesla was on the list of “76 intelligent connected vehicle models that meet China’s auto data safety requirements.” The CCP outlet specifically mentioned foreign companies’ compliance with “security”.
Musk’s shameful efforts to curry favor with the CCP are not a new phenomenon. Musk, for example, endorsed in 2022 the CCP’s illegitimate claim to Taiwan, an independent and democratic nation.
