TSA Is Seeing How Far You Will Comply

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) just recommended fining people $250, increasing up to $1,500, for repeated violations of face mask requirements. They said fining passengers who fail to comply with the new mask requirements will help “stop the spread.”

Between “stop the spread” and “follow the science,” you’d think the Democrats would have some scientific studies to show for what they claim, but instead, they just slap another fine onto already-struggling Americans. You know, the ones they put out of work with draconian government lockdowns.

“This will help prevent further spread of COVID-19 and encourage a unified government response,” Darby LaJoye, a senior TSA official who is performing the duties of the agency head, said at the time. “As we continue to experience impacts from this pandemic, we are committed to this measure as the right thing to do for the TSA workforce, for our industry stakeholders, and for passengers,” said senior TSA official Darby LaJoye.

TSA announced the latest mask mandate on Jan. 31, which went into effect on Feb 2, requiring passengers over the age of 2 to wear masks at TSA checkpoints. It also requires individuals to wear a mask at all airport screening checkpoints and throughout commercial and public transportation systems, which is also in line with President Biden’s executive orders on mask usage.

The mandate would apply to passengers on airplanes, trains, subways, and buses, even extending to waiting rooms. Passengers must wear a mask that covers their nose and mouth and could be fined outside of the range if there is “substantial aggravating or mitigating factors.”

The mandate will be until at least May 11, 2021. They also updated their website to include specific guidance on how to report violations “so that TSA may issue penalties.” Is this the world we’re actually living in?

Airlines have already banned more than 2,000 passengers from traveling for refusing to wear a mask. Democrat logic is fining American citizens $1,500 for not wearing a mask on a plane, but illegal aliens can cross our borders with no mask and no health screenings. Democrats and illegals are always above the law.

If Democrats really wanted to stop the spread and have some science to follow, they wouldn’t let traveler remove their masks to eat and drink during flight. If the virus was that dangerous, you’d have to wear your mask at all times. But it’s about control and seeing how far they can push you to comply.
