Gov. DeSantis Issues Executive Orders To Ban Vaccine Passport Requirements

Vaccine passports have been in discussion by the radical left of reaching theaters and arenas for quite some time now, even extending out to pubs, nightclubs, restaurants, and cinemas. But according to recent reports, the introduction of vaccine passports and tracking apps have been politicized into something people are being forced into, so that they can get “back to normal life” again.

Radical left leaders have tried to incentivize people into getting vaccine passports by promising they would relax COVID-19 restrictions and ‘provide maximum confidence to businesses and customers.’ But GOP lawmakers and leaders are seeing this as an unconstitutional move to strip people of their freedoms in exchange for the vaccine passport, as well as a violation of privacy and personal medical records. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is one of the leaders fighting against this purely political move.

Florida has been one of the leading states in successfully distributing the vaccine and providing COVID-19 vaccination shots to nearly 3.5 million seniors. The state seeks to ensure that every Floridian who desires a COVID-19 vaccine can receive it, but that such vaccines would not be mandated. Gov. DeSantis issued an executive order on Friday that would prohibit any businesses from requiring that customers show proof they have been vaccinated against COVID-19, as well as banning agencies from issuing vaccine passports in the state. They addressed numerous concerns regarding private health information, patient privacy, and reducing individual freedom through COVID-19 passports.

“Businesses in Florida are prohibited from requiring patrons or customers to provide any documentation certifying COVID-19 vaccination or post-transmission recovery to gain access to, entry upon, or service from the business. Al executive agencies under my direction shall work to ensure businesses comply with this order,” the executive order reads.

The executive order comes after several businesses and events, such as the South Beach Food and Wine Festival and the Miami Heat basketball team, incorporated vaccine status for patrons or customers to gain access into the events. While the order does not restrict businesses from instituting screening protocols in compliance with the state and in order to protect public health, personal health information should interfere with accessing an individual’s basic rights.

Gov. DeSantis says this order will provide protection for all Floridians, instead of creating two classes of citizens, and that he looks forward to signing it into law soon. He says no individual should be forced into the vaccine passport process in order to attend a sporting event, go to a restaurant, or even sit in a movie theatre.

“Whereas, many Floridians have not yet had the opportunity to obtain a COVID-19 vaccination, some have infection-acquired immunity, and others may be unable to obtain a COVID-19 vaccination due to health, religious, or other reasons,” the order reads.

Gov. DeSantis also criticized New York for becoming the first state to implement a COVID-19 passport app and said it was “completely unacceptable” for the government or a private sector to impose these requirements upon their citizens and make you “show proof of vaccine” in order to participate in a normal society. “You want to go to a movie theater, should you have to show that? No. You want to go to a game, a theme park? No. So we’re not supportive of that,” he said.

While GOP leaders believe that it is an individual right to make your own health decisions, the radical left wants to strip you of your freedoms in exchange for a vaccine passport. What’s next?
