The Biden Administration is calling for a pause in the use of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine distribution after six reported cases of a blood clotting disorder. Six cases out of 7 million people. And while the radical left claims to follow a predominantly scientific process in guiding their approach to the pandemic, they have adopted everything but.
Federal health agencies announced the temporary stop of Johnson & Johnson’s one-dose vaccine after six women, between the ages of 18 and 48, developed a rare and severe type of blood clot. The clots were observed alongside reduced platelet counts and developed within about two weeks of vaccination. One is being hospitalized in critical condition and another died.
“We are recommending a pause in the use of this vaccine out of an abundance of caution. Treatment of this specific type of blood clot is different from the treatment that might typically be administered,” the Food & Drug Administration announced.
White House Response Coordinator Jeff Zients told reporters that the pause would not have a significant effect on national vaccination efforts. While he claimed that the decision came entirely from the FDA and not the White House, others argue that the pause will create more vaccine hesitancy in the country.
Former President Donald Trump even suggested that the FDA is full of longtime bureaucrats who are trying to politically damage Johnson & Johnson while cozying up with Pfizer. Mind you, 15 million Johnson & Johnson vaccine doses were ruined by a production error on the Biden Administration’s watch.
“The Biden Administration did a terrible disservice to people throughout the world by allowing the FDA and CDC to call a pause in the use of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine. The results of this vaccine have been extraordinary but now its reputation will be permanently challenged. The people who have already taken the vaccine will be all up in arms, and perhaps all of this was done for politics, or perhaps it’s the FDA’s love for Pfizer,” Trump said.
During his candidacy, Trump constantly talked about reducing drug prices in the pharmaceutical world. This changed how Pfizer strategized their vaccine rollout. They withheld data for the company’s vaccine until six days after the 2020 presidential election, which would reveal that they had the nation’s first COVID-19 vaccine. It was more than 90 percent effective and signaled an end to the pandemic. Why wait to share that news? The FDA then approved Pfizer’s vaccine in December and produced the Moderna vaccine later that month.
Dr. Anthony Fauci, the infectious disease expert, defended the White House and said that any concerned people who received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine should watch out for unusual symptoms such as headaches, shortness of breath, and chest discomfort. He called it “premature” to speculate whether or not the Johnson & Johnson vaccine would return but offered no concerns regarding the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines currently on the market.
President Biden has also falsely claimed that he inherited and turned around a “slow-moving vaccination program” from the Trump Administration. While vaccines were developed and tested under Trump’s Operation Warp Speed, all Biden had to do was hand them out. The administration, however, can’t even seem to do that. With the pause of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, vaccine rollout will slow down quite a bit.
President Biden boasts that he will hit 100 million vaccinations by the end of his first 100 days in office, a goal that the Trump Administration already established, but that’s hard to believe when his administration won’t even “follow the science” in regards to vaccine rollout. Liberals follow the science that listens to six people out of 6.8 million. They’ll do anything to keep lockdowns and mask mandates afloat.
