Obama Announces Birthday Celebration With Nearly 700 People, White House Defends The Party By Saying He’s A Vaccine Advocate

It was recently announced that former President Barack Obama is expected to hold a massive outdoor birthday party for himself this upcoming weekend, with 475 confirmed guests and nearly 200+ staff planning to work for the party. This comes as the Biden Administration and the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention continue to sound the alarm over spiking COVID-19 cases and the spread of the Delta variant. If former president Donald Trump were throwing this kind of celebration, it’d be called a super-spreader. But because the guest of honor is Obama, it’s a birthday party.

The Obama’s continue to talk about ‘spreading the wealth around” while blowing millions on their own lavish and celebrity-filled affairs. Barack Obama’s last party was for his 55th birthday and was celebrated at the White House with attendees such as Paul McCartney, Nick Jonas, Ellen DeGeneres, Stevie Wonder, and Magic Johnson. Celebrities on the guest list this year include Oprah Winfrey, George Clooney, and Steven Spielberg. President Joe Biden will not be attending the event, but a spokesperson shared that Biden will “catch up” with the Obama’s and welcome Barack to the 60+ Club soon.

Obama’s 60th birthday party will be held at Martha’s Vineyard, which is on an island in Dukes County, Massachusetts. The island recently issued another mask advisory (even for vaccinated individuals) due to rising cases of the Delta variant. There was also another spread among vaccinated people over the Fourth of July in Provincetown, Massachusetts, another city close to Martha’s Vineyard.

It was not clear whether or not invitees would be required to wear masks, but all were informed that there will be a person to ensure proper protocols are followed. Guests were asked to be vaccinated and provide a negative coronavirus test at the event, but there were no details provided as to how this would be policed.

While White House press secretary Jen Psaki continued to bash Florida’s Gov. Ron DeSantis over refusing to instill mask mandates, she had no particular problem defending Obama’s massive CDC-defying birthday party. Psaki even emphasized that Obama has been a “huge advocate” of getting individuals vaccinated.

Fox News’ Peter Doocy pushed back and asked Psaki if Obama was setting the “wrong example” for how serious COVID-19 can be by hosting a big birthday party with hundreds of people. He emphasized that the Biden Administration always talks about how vaccinated people can still spread the delta variant, adding that Obama’s birthday party might become one of these so-called super-spreader events.

“Well, I think Peter, the guidance is about what steps people can take when they are in public settings, indoor settings specifically was the new guidance, to keep themselves and others safe. In terms of what protocols they are taking, I would refer you to them and I’m sure they can give you more detail,” Psaki responded.

Doocy fired back that people watching from home will think it’s okay to have a party with several hundred people, in which Psaki smiled back and said that the White House’s advice was for “everyone to follow public health guidelines.”

But even the director of the National Institutes of Health Frances Collins has pushed back and said people should avoid big parties. He asked how you are “really going to be sure” about people’s vaccination statuses when there are 100+ people in attendance at the event.

TV Host Piers Morgan also blasted the former president and pointed out the difference in treatment if it were being hosted by Donald Trump.

“I think we all know what Trump’s liberal critics would say: that it’s shamefully selfish, incredibly reckless, and a former President of the United States should be setting a better example to the American people at such a perilous time for the country. And they would be right. But it’s not President Trump who is having the party, it’s President Barack Obama,” Morgan said.

Rep. Andy Biggs also called out the same sentiment, tweeting, “Just imagine if this party was for Trump.”

Obama’s birthday party invitation also asked guests to consider giving to programs that support boys and young men of color, families in the United States, adolescent girls around the world, and equipping the next generation of “emerging community leaders.” It’s a typical liberal move to deflect an ill-advised hypocritical event with a stack of feel-good donations. Virtue signaling is the only way the left feels good about anything they do.
