DeSantis Warns Migrants Bused From Texas To DC

Published on

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has warned migrants not to visit his state following a busload of migrants from Texas dropped off at the U.S Capitol. They said they were heading to Miami. As part of Texas Governor. Greg Abbott’s plan to combat federal immigration policies in the midst of a continuing border crisis.

Fox News reported that the migrants plan to travel by train to Miami, Florida. The Texas Department of Emergency Management’s (TDEM), which ran the bus, ended in D.C. so the migrants will have to make their way to Florida.

DeSantis disagrees with the fact that migrants plan to travel to the Sunshine State. His executive office issued a clear message to them: “Do Not Come.”

Fair warning to illegal immigrants: Do not enter Florida. It will be difficult for you because we are bound to uphold this country’s immigration laws, even if other states and federal governments don’t,” Fox News Digital exclusively reported that the Executive Office was made by the Governor of Florida.

“Florida does not have the status of a sanctuary state. Our social programs are intended to benefit all residents. “The governor will protect Florida’s sovereignty,” said the statement.

Governor’s Office also blamed Biden Administration for putting the health of migrant workers at risk by encouraging them “make dangerous treks” to put their lives in danger and leaving them vulnerable to human smugglers.

The Biden Administration has done you a disservice if you’ve illegally arrived here. They encouraged you to trek dangerously, sometimes at great personal distress for you and your family. Sometimes this meant that you were forced to give your fate over to dangerous coyotes or human traffickers.

“There is a legal procedure to attain full American citizenship. This is an integral part of America’s promise. The statement concluded that Florida will uphold the law.

At 8 AM local time, the migrant bus arrived just blocks from the U.S. Capitol Building. Fox News learned that the migrants arrived in Texas from Colombia, Cuba and Nicaragua.

Individuals disembarked from the bus upon its arrival in Washington, D.C., except for families that exited together. Before they could leave, they checked in with officials. There were 19 men and four women in the group, with three children.

TDEM stated that it dispatched buses to the border communities to coordinate with officials to identify the immigrants. According to TDEM, each bus can transport up to 40 migrants from Texas to Washington, D.C.

Abbott stated Wednesday that the federal government is continuing to ignore the border crisis. The State of Texas would not rest in its efforts to fill the gaps and keep Texans safe.

Jen Psaki, White House Press Secretary, told Fox News’ Jacqui Heinrich Wednesday all the migrants are currently in immigration proceedings and that it’s “nice that Texas is helping them to get to their final destinations.”

These are all immigrants who have been processed and granted travel permits by CBP. It’s great that the state of Texas helps them reach their destination while they wait for their immigration decision. They’re all currently in immigration proceedings.”

Abbott stated Wednesday that the Biden Administration would be better able to meet the immediate needs of migrants by busing them to Washington, D.C. “Texas shouldn’t have to shoulder the burden of the Biden Administration failing to secure our borders.”
