Joe Biden finally makes moves to stop a looming strike by railroad workers, which could shut down large swathes of commerce across the country. His solution? He is calling for Congress’s help to place union workers in their place, despite the fact they make up a significant portion of the Democratic Party’s base.
This is going over as well as you would imagine. The language in these posts may be a little frosty. However, it is representative of the anger that is being displayed.
Full sellout from the White House for the majority of rail workers who rejected the deal the President brokered, preemptively denying them the right to strike.
This was the “which side are you on?” moment, and the White House chose the railroad bosses.https://t.co/yasjb9tFdf

First reactions via text from rail workers:
“He’s a dick head”
“Fucking loser”
“RIP Democrats”
And the Dems wonder why they’re losing the white working class

What’s the best thing about this? It’s the fact that I don’t care. I don’t care even a little. The union workers have been able to sort out their politics for decades, but they still vote overwhelmingly for Democrats. Blue-collar states such as Pennsylvania and Michigan saw a shift away from Donald Trump in 2020. This was likely to decide the election. They chose this self-destructive route, and I have no sympathy for those who are now suffering the consequences.
Yes, I understand that union membership is mandatory, especially for railroad workers. Yet, these far-leftist hacks continue to be elected into leadership positions within the unions and the money continues to flow to Democrat coffers. Moreover, the majority of union workers continue to vote for Democrats. What do they get back? Nothing, especially when we consider the transportation and energy industries that Biden and his comrades are trying to eliminate with their draconian policies.
It’s not their fault that they continue to endure this abuse. It’s amazing, just think about it. Biden was so dependent on these railroad unions that they made a tentative agreement to put off the fight until after the last election, knowing they would later attempt to renegotiate it. The White House nodded and gave them a wink. The union members cheated the American people, postponing a political disaster that could have cost Democrats the election. They thought they would get their pound of flesh afterward. It is quite poetic that they are being betrayed.
Sincere, I wish Republicans had the fortitude to vote against Biden’s bailout by voting in Congress to make railroad workers work. He lit a fire under one of his main constituencies. Let him burn. Perhaps, just maybe, the blue-collar unions will learn from their mistakes.
