We have “shoulder width reduction” surgery, which is a trendy and innovative cosmetic mutilation for LGBTQ+, this week.
Since the inception of medicine, doctors have made a commitment to do no harm. Surgical procedures that require anesthesia are last-ditch treatments for medical conditions. They are now considered cosmetic, comparable to a manicure or ear piercing.
The shoulder width reduction is achieved by cutting off a section of the clavicle and then joining the rest with a metal plate. This procedure can cost thousands of dollars. Here is a video of the procedure being performed.
Liberal orthodoxy says that you must love yourself, no matter what society tells you. This is the philosophy behind “body positivity,” which fat liberal women use as an excuse for staying enormous.
Fat models are known for embracing their bodies and encouraging others to do the same. They also encourage their followers to be as gluttonous and make no effort to improve their appearances, which is a huge part of their careers.
The same principle doesn’t seem to apply to lucrative transgender surgery like shoulder mutilations. The same self-love mantra gets thrown out the window when there is money to make and social fabric to tear apart.
Research shows that 15% of patients have post-operative complications. As high as 5.7% mortality rates may result from surgery. How many people will be affected by aesthetic, medically unneeded shoulder width reduction surgery?
