Joe Biden was very angry and confused on Thursday. Some of this was touched upon in an earlier post. He said many things about the economy that were false and ended up incorrectly — but accidentally — blaming others for the problems.
He also had other confusions. He tried to reach out to Doug four times during those remarks.

“Where’s Doug? Congressman?” When there’s no one named “Doug,” it’s hard for him to respond to Joe Biden’s entreaties. He seemingly was trying to reference Rep. Don Beyer (D-VA).

It’s not so. It was a flashback back to the time Biden became so confused that he called out to Rep. Jackie Walorski, R-IN, who had just died a month earlier. Although he knew that she had died, he made a special acknowledgment of it. But he seemed to have forgotten about it a month later.
Biden’s comments about “Doug”, however, weren’t the end of the confusion. Biden had to also attend the AAPI New Year celebration at the White House. Biden had trouble uttering “AAPI”, so he ended up saying “NIH”, which is almost the exact same thing.

Ironically, he ended up calling it the full name Asian American Pacific Islander. He did get it right.

Jill Biden pulled him up on the stage, then laughed at him, saying, “You’re not going to dance Joe, you won’t ruin the evening.” He just stood there looking silly.

Joe was also confused when he was left alone on the stage, looking around as if he didn’t know where he should go. “I guess I have to step down here,” he said.

Joe, it’s more than the last time you got off the stage. Your backup Kamala Harris is also pretty awful.
As he tried to leave the event, reporters asked him questions about the classified document scandal. They also wanted to know if he would allow the FBI into his Rehoboth Beach house to search. He stared blankly at them. Jill was not going to let him answer the questions and say something stupid. She hustled him out of her office.
