Kyrsten Sinema Says She Left Democratic Party Over Deeply Broken Two-Party System

Sen. Kyrsten Silena (I-AZ), said Tuesday that she left the Democratic Party due to the “partisanship” within the “deeply fracture two-party system. ”

In a panel discussion at Tuesday’s World Economic Forum, she answered a question regarding her decision to quit the Democratic Party.

She said that she had declared independence from the “deeply flawed two-party system” last week. I have stood up for what I believe for my country, and for my state.

Sinema said, “Whatever you’ve heard about partisanship was correct,”

Sinema provided one example of why she quit the Democratic Party. It was their response on January 6 Capitol Riot. Sinema spoke about string bills the Democrats wanted in Congress and that necessitated that the filibuster is removed.

Over the next two-year period, the Democratic Party developed a narrative that said, “We wouldn’t have any more fair or free elections in this country,” if Congress didn’t eliminate the filibuster and pass a massive voting rights package. In 2022, there were free and fair elections across the country.

Many observers pointed out that the election result was not what they had expected. One party may have tried to take away an important safeguard from our country’s institution to gain short-term gains.

Sinema (D.WV) and Sen. Joe Manchin (D.WV) also shared a moment during forum. They gave each other high-fives and reiterated their support for filibuster.

Sinema asked Manchin: “We still don’t agree to get rid the filibuster.” Correct? She said, “That’s right. ”

Breitbart News reported last week that Sinema, Manchin and a United States representative left for the World Economic Forum. However, many people are still uncertain if they left without making an announcement about their intentions to run in the next cycle.

Since Sinema switched to an independent party, the Senate Democrats will have to work to maintain or expand their 51-seat majority. To replace retiring members, some Democrat senators could be in red states like Manchin.
