It is both shocking and not surprising that the mainstream media has used a double standard when reporting on classified documents in Trump’s possession and Joe Biden’s possession.

To explain Biden’s obvious violations of law, the media is trying to make it look like pretzels. This is akin to the reaction to the revelations regarding Hillary Clinton’s secretive use of classified documents, and the effort by the media to exonerate Clinton.

Trump was wrong to retain classified documents after leaving the White House. No matter what reason, it’s a violation of the Presidential Records Act. You might as well dig 2 graves if you want to bury Trump for his illegal act. Joe Biden is also guilty.

Biden is said to be cooperating with the FBI and National Archives in their investigation. He might score points in kindergarten, but not in criminal investigations. The media makes a ridiculous comparison between Trump’s resistance and Biden’s cooperation, which can lead to them losing their focus. It doesn’t really matter if Biden was more cooperative or less with authorities than Trump. Nothing in the law says that cooperation is required to take the documents.

There are many other arguments that left-wing media make that are just as absurd.

Spectator.com:

Biden’s documents were kept safe in a locked cupboard. The Classification Law is very clear about how documents should be stored. It specifies, for instance, how long a safe can withstand being cut open. The Secure Compartmentalized Information level (SCI), which Hillary, Trump, and Biden held, provides details about the room and door they must be stored in. “Closet” doesn’t fit the definition, regardless of whether it’s at Biden, Mar-a-Lago, or Hillary’s house.

Biden is supported by the most common argument for his criminality: Trump had more documents than Biden.

C’Mon, Man!

Biden had some/several/a lot of classified documents, while Trump had hundreds. Although four Sesame Street characters are larger than three, it doesn’t make a significant difference with classified documents. Each document is a violation. There are no exemptions for having less than a certain amount. A single classified document can be enough to warrant an indictment. Let’s not forget Hillary Clinton. She was permitted to not only carry 33,000 subpoenaed files in the form of email attachments out of secure areas on her server but also to delete them. Imagine Biden reporting that he and his staff had deleted all the documents they found, regardless of whether Trump was present at the bonfire.

This is not surprising, but it is still great fun to see the left excuse Trump’s lawbreaking.

It is the exact same law.

In a letter to Garland, Missouri Senator Josh Hawley stated that “the double standard here is astonishing.” The underlying behavior, namely the President’s retention of classified documents from a previous presidency, is materially the same in both instances.

While it is true that Garland appointed a special counsel to investigate the matter, most media outlets dismiss the appointment as window dressing. This was due to Republican pressure.

It’s remarkable that the media can’t see, or is unable to see, the double standard they use. Their hatred for Trump is so strong that they are unable to see any evidence of their unbalanced and hysterical opposition.

It is impossible to predict how far this hatred and double standard will go.
