Police Find 200k Images of Child Pornography Weighing More Than 1 Ton in Florida Man’s Home

According to Florida police, a 72-year-old man was arrested for having a large amount of child pornography that weighed more than a ton.

Detective Chase King from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office stated to WCJB-TV, that they received a tip about child pornography being posted online in January. They traced the IP address back to Paul Zittel.

Police arrested Zittel on Thursday after executing a warrant search at his home and discovering more than 200,000 images printed in boxes in his bedroom and office. A printer found in Zittel’s possession showed signs of heavy usage.

Police said that the 50 boxes of images weighed more than a ton and were unusually heavy.

King stated that the main difference between this and other versions is that they are all printed in physical form. However, a lot of times we see them on thumb drives or computers in digital format.

Zittel was charged 25 times with possession of child pornography.

According to the sheriff’s office, the man wouldn’t allow his roommates in his bedroom or office without an accompanying officer.

King warned parents not to allow their children unlimited access to the internet.

He said, “Keep your eyes on your children’s activities because they could be entangled in online content in less than ten seconds and cause a lot of trauma and problems.”

According to one report, the number of child pornography offenders convicted has fallen from 1,593 in 2016 to 1,023 in 2020. 99.7% of child pornography offenders are men.
