El-Sayed Goes After JD Vance’s Wife and Exposes the Left’s True Colors

There’s a particular brand of arrogance that comes with being a progressive politician in 2026. You can say almost anything, imply the ugliest thoughts, and still walk away claiming moral superiority. Abdul El-Sayed just gave us a masterclass in exactly that kind of behavior.

The Michigan Democratic Senate candidate decided this weekend was the perfect time to take a swipe at Second Lady Usha Vance. His post dripped with insinuation, suggesting that JD Vance wouldn’t dare take his Indian-American wife back in time to meet his grandfather. The implication? That working-class white Americans from the Midwest are inherently racist. That Papaw would somehow reject Usha based on her ethnicity.

Let that sink in for a moment. Here’s a guy running for Senate who just broadcast to every rural white voter in Michigan that he thinks they’re bigots. Not some of them. All of them. It’s the kind of casual contempt that used to end political careers. Now it’s just Tuesday for the progressive left.

What makes this whole episode even more galling is the silence from El-Sayed’s campaign when asked to explain what exactly he meant. They didn’t return comment requests. Of course they didn’t. Because explaining would require admitting what everyone already knows he was saying. Better to let it hang there in the digital ether, winking at the base while maintaining deniability to everyone else.

This isn’t El-Sayed’s first rodeo with controversy either. The man has previously defended Sharia law and suggested that criticizing it amounts to white supremacy. JD Vance called him out on that during a rally in Ohio, noting correctly that this isn’t the Democratic Party his grandfather knew. And he’s right. The party of the working man has become the party of socialist influencers and coastal elites who view middle America as a problem to be solved rather than people to be represented.

But wait, there’s more. El-Sayed also took a shot at Natalie Harp, a Trump aide, in what appeared to be a juvenile attempt at humor suggesting she has some kind of inappropriate relationship with the president. It’s the kind of sexist innuendo that would have the outrage machine running at full capacity if it came from a Republican. Instead, crickets from the usual suspects who claim to care about respecting women in politics.

Former Florida state Rep. Ben Graber nailed it when he asked what kind of guy attacks the wives of American leaders. It’s a fair question. And it leads to an even better one: what does this say about how El-Sayed would treat female staff if he actually wins in November? His Democratic primary opponents already ran ads highlighting his sexist and misogynistic behavior toward female political rivals. The pattern is there for anyone willing to look.

Representative Brandon Gill from Texas asked why El-Sayed just assumes all white Midwestern grandparents are racist. It’s the question that cuts to the heart of progressive ideology in 2026. They’ve built an entire worldview on stereotypes and assumptions about regular Americans, then have the audacity to call everyone else bigoted.

The conservative movement has always understood something the left refuses to acknowledge. Individual liberty means judging people as individuals, not as representatives of their race or background. It means believing that JD Vance’s grandfather, like most Americans, would have welcomed Usha with open arms because that’s what decent people do. They see character, not color.

El-Sayed is running against former Congressman Mike Rogers in what should be a competitive race. But how do you compete for working-class votes when you’ve just told working-class voters you think they’re racist? How do you win over women when your track record shows contempt for female colleagues? How do you claim to represent Michigan values while campaigning with far-left socialists who say America deserved 9/11?

The answer is you don’t. Or at least you shouldn’t. But in an era where progressive candidates seem to fail upward regardless of their conduct, who knows anymore? What’s certain is this: El-Sayed just showed us exactly who he is. We should believe him.
