According to his parents’ statement, Phillip Todd (Senator Rand Paul’s personal assistant) was attacked by an individual just released from prison. He is expected to make a full recovery.
According to police reports, he was attacked randomly and brutally by someone armed with a knife who tried to kill him. His parents noted that the intervention of his friend saved him from dying.
“Our son is in stable condition, having undergone trauma surgery to address the wounds in his body. He also has a fracture on his skull, which will be treated with non-invasive neurosurgery. He is expected to make a full recovery due to his young age and good health,” they said. “Our son and our family draw strength from our faith to see us through this challenging time. Phillip is conscious and alert and has repeatedly stated, ‘the joy of the Lord is my strength.’ (Nehemiah 8:10).”
His parents also mentioned that Phillip’s senatorial chief of staff and senator had paid a “personal visit to encourage him.”
