NFL Prospect Stetson Bennett Berates Police, Arrest Video Shows

Stetson Bennett, a former Georgia Bulldogs quarterback, accused the officers who arrested him in January with ruining his reputation. This video was first seen by TMZ.

Stetson (25), who helped Georgia win two consecutive College Football Playoff National Championships was taken into custody by Dallas police for public intoxication. The video shows Stetson shouting at officers from the back seat of a police vehicle.

In the early hours of January 29, officers were dispatched to the scene. Someone claimed that Bennett was drunk and had accused him of “banging at doors” and “yelling.”

After repeatedly asking Bennett to show his hands, the responding officers finally put him in cuffs. The officers also said that they had questioned Bennett about his past whereabouts.

Bennett later claimed that he was in Dallas to train for the upcoming NFL Draft. Bennett answered that he was a former Georgia football player.

The Dallas Police Department provided an incident report to the Athens Banner-Herald in March. It stated that Bennett “hid behind the wall” and attempted to evade police.

Authorities also noted that Bennett’s breath emitted a strong alcohol odor.

Bennett became angry when he was forced to sit in the back seat of the squad car.

Bennett spoke out at the March NFL Scouting Combine about his regrets over how he handled it.

Bennett stated that the worst part of his situation was when he let down his family.
