Eric Adams Snubbed From Biden Reelection Board After Bashing Border Policies

After Adams criticized Biden’s border policies in recent months, President Joe Biden’s re-election campaign removed New York City mayor Eric Adams (D), from its National Advisory Board.

Adams was among the many Democratic officials initially named to Biden’s advisory board in march. Politico reported that the members of the advisory board were to campaign for Biden at rallies and on TV across the nation.

Politico reports that Adams’ name is no longer on the list of prominent Democrats released on Wednesday by Biden’s camp.

Political analysts believe Adams’ rejection was due to his criticism of Biden’s border policy.

Adams said last month that Biden’s migration crisis is “destroying” New York City.

Adams continued, “None of my people came to Washington, DC, in order to fight for resources that will undermine all agencies in our city.”

Adams’ remarks come days after he attacked Biden for abandoning New York City, accusing him of causing “one the largest humanitarian crisis that this city has experienced.”

Adams criticized the White House for its “irresponsibility” in not solving the migrant issue as recently as last weekend.

“It’s not about asylum seekers and migrants.” Adams stated that “we all came from somewhere in order to pursue the American Dream.” Adams said, “It’s irresponsible of the Republican Party to refuse real immigration reform and of the White House not to address this problem.”

Hank Sheinkopf, a political consultant, said that Biden’s removal from Adams was “a shot in the ribs by the Biden Team.”

Sheinkopf said to the New York Post that the message was: “Don’t criticize a Democratic incumbent president, and don’t critique the first black woman vice president.” “Any criticism by a Democrat as they prepare for re-election will be seen as a travesty.”

According to Politico, one of Adams’s aides said that the relationship between Mayor Adams and President Obama “has soured.”

The aide stated that “that’s almost certain what happened” when Biden dropped Adams because of his criticisms.

The assistant said Adams made “comments that ranged from stupid to inartistic.”

Adams spokesperson Fabien levy told Politico that the mayor was “ready to assist the president in reelection any way he can.”
