CBS News Calls DeSantis ‘Dangerous’ for Promoting ‘Medical Freedom’

Published on

It’s not just the Republicans who are getting slammed in special elections that make it feel like 2021.

We previously reported that COVID-19 is making a return, and the press once again has found a foil in Ron DeSantis.

CBS News’ latest article, in which Florida Governor DeathSantis is described as “dangerous”, and spreading “misinformation,” is a resounding endorsement of the infamous alias.

As Americans consider whether to take advice from federal health officials and get an updated COVID-19 vaccine, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is drumming the message that ignited his national political career: Ignore what the federal government tells you about COVID-19.

Wouldn’t it be prudent to act this way, given the history of the federal government intentionally misleading Americans about the virus? State-level health officials are there for a purpose, and they don’t exist to simply repeat what the current president says. Why have them at the very least?

They advised people younger than 65 to avoid vaccinations, despite the lack of evidence.

DeSantis said, “I won’t stand by while the FDA and CDC test new booster shots on healthy Floridians that haven’t been proven safe or effective,” contradicting FDA findings. Florida has once again been the first state to provide guidance that is based on the truth and not Washington’s edicts.

That’s not the way evidence works. The federal government has a responsibility to conduct rigorous trials to prove a drug’s safety. It is not a false statement if someone says, “You should wait to take it until more data is available.” It is not possible to prove that it’s a false statement. Here we are discussing basic critical thinking.

Joseph Ladapo, the state surgeon general of Florida, was DeSantis’s chosen keeper of public health strategies.

Ladapo stated, “My judgment is that this is not a good choice for young people or for those who aren’t at high risk in this stage of the pandemic.”

Ladapo is under fire by public health experts after DeSantis appointed him to the position. Federal health officials have criticized him for spreading misinformation on COVID and vaccinations in general.

Let’s accept this premise. Lapado may be wrong, but he must provide data to prove it. The federal government must have done its due diligence.

Salmon stated, “They don’t even know what COVID is.” “They cherry-pick facts to support their position, and they don’t possess the expertise to make these decisions for a large number of people.”

He said: “It seemed to me that they were trying to sow doubt, and this is dangerous.”

This would also be a very simple problem to solve. Just produce the data to eliminate all doubt. You don’t have to worry about public perceptions.

DeSantis can’t afford to sit in a tower of ivory and hope that everything will go well. DeSantis’ state is under his jurisdiction, and he has made the choice to promote medical liberty. This is not dangerous. This is common sense. This is also a principle which underpins the American system.
