Blinken Condemns Hamas Sex Crimes: “Beyond Anything I’ve Seen”

Published on

Secretary of State Antony Blinken recently spoke on CNN’s State of the Union With Jake Tapper. He condemned the Hamas terrorists’ sexual assaults in their October 7th massacre as well as the world’s mute reaction to the horrors.

We’ve seen that many people, including Rep. Pramila Jajapal (D-WA), have downplayed this issue.

Blinken, however, sees things differently.

Blinken said to CNN’s Jake Tapper, “I don’t understand why leaders, countries, and international organizations took so long to draw attention to this. I’m glad that it’s finally happening. The atrocities we witnessed on October 7 were almost beyond our ability to describe or digest. We’ve discussed them before, yet the sexual violence we witnessed on October 7 was beyond anything I’ve ever seen.”

U.N. Women deleted a post on social media that criticized Hamas terrorists raping, torturing, and killing Israeli women. This was reported by Jeff Charles.

Susan Sarandon is a great feminist. What a feminist.

Blinken stated that many countries should look in the mirror.

Blinken responded to Tapper’s question about why the United Nations, and the international community, have been so slow in responding to the allegations: “I believe it is a problem that these countries, these organizations need to address themselves.”

Hamas has denied these attacks despite overwhelming evidence.

First responders at the scene of the attack on October 7 told CNN that the attack was overwhelmingly brutal and some female victims had been found unclothed.

Hamas has denied its militants were raped during the attacks. In a Telegram statement made last week, Hamas decried “the coordination between some Western media outlets and the Zionist misleading campaign that promotes unfounded lies and accusations aimed at demonizing the Palestinian Resistance…

The organizers of the UN meeting disproved this denial, presenting mounting evidence of rape during the attacks of October 7. This included graphic video footage from bodies and videos of Hamas militants confessing to rape under interrogation. They also presented testimony by Israeli police officers as well as witnesses of the attack and the aftermath. Speakers who prepared the bodies for burial gave evidence that militants had gang-raped victims, and shot or mutilated them in their genital areas.

I am not a fan of Antony Blinken, because I think he made many mistakes as Secretary of State. But, on this issue, I will give him the credit he deserves. The voices that were supposed to be the loudest in condemning Hamas’ sexual depravity remained silent because they did not want to appear as supporters of Israel. It is beyond hypocrisy.
