Outrage as Judge Releases Illegal Immigrants Charged in Border Riot

A county judge dismissed the charges on Wednesday against members of an illegal immigrant group that stormed into the United States in March of this year. A group consisting almost entirely of young men tried to push past concertina wires to enter the United States illegally. County Court Judge Ruben Morales dismissed 211 charges in the case citing procedural mistakes and claiming that he had no jurisdiction. El Paso’s District Attorney intends to appeal.

El Paso’s district attorney announced on Thursday that his office would appeal a ruling by a Texas judge dismissing riot charges against illegal immigrants who rushed past troops and forced their way deeper into the U.S.

In the incident of March 21, authorities arrested over 200 illegal immigrants for state rioting. A group of mostly adult male migrants had pushed through the concertina fence along the border with Mexico.

The video of the incident became viral, and it fueled a dispute between Texas and Biden’s administration over how to deal with the current crisis at the border.

Judge Ruben Morales alleged that the procedures involved in the transfer of 211 cases from the other court to his were not properly followed. He dismissed the cases.

El Paso Times reports that a county judge dismissed 211 cases at a hearing on Wednesday. He said the proper procedure was not followed concerning an order transfer jurisdiction to his court. Judge Ruben Morales claimed that he was unable to do anything about the situation.

The Times reported that Morales stated, “If I do not have jurisdiction, there is nothing I can to on these cases except dismiss them.”

Judge Morales is a registered Democrat and was elected to the El Paso County Court (not appointed).

El Paso’s District Attorney held a Thursday press conference to discuss the matter.

Bill Hicks, the District Attorney of New York City, said in a Thursday press conference that his office was not happy with the decision and planned to appeal.

He said: “We felt that his order was improper and was not done properly. We argued it was appropriate, and strongly.” “We intend to appeal his order at the Court of Appeals.”

It is not a good decision. We have no hesitation in appealing his dismissal order because of this, and we believe that the law is our friend.

If the ruling is overturned, it’s unclear if any of the illegal immigrants initially charged can be located.

Judge Morales ruling aside, Biden’s administration’s lack of border enforcement is at the root of this incident and other incidents like it. Illegal immigrants have become more confident in the last three years due to a lack of enforcement. In this case, the 200+ illegals storming the border were released to the Border Patrol for “processing,” which means they would claim asylum and be given a future hearing date. They would then be handed over to an NGO, which gave them cash, and a telephone, and transported them to one of our cities where many of the young men of military age would disappear.

Biden’s administration has committed gross misfeasance in the situation at our southern border. This is only one incident that has resulted from the lack of enforcement.
