Officials say that two people were killed and three injured when a former employee who was disgruntled opened fire in a linen shop in Chester, Pennsylvania on Wednesday.
The shooting took place at Delaware County Linen. According to its website, it is a “family-owned full-service linen company founded in 1988” that serves restaurants, hotels, country clubs, and other businesses.
This is a common story in the United States of America. “A disgruntled worker walked into the Delaware County Linen Shop behind us and shot five people — five coworkers,” Delaware County district attorney Jack Stollsteimer told reporters at the scene.
Two are dead, and three are in the hospital. “I’m asking everyone in this area who is listening to me today to pray right now for them,” he continued. “They are in a serious condition, and we hope they will survive.”
Stollheimer said that the suspected shooter was taken into custody and called the incident an “absolute tragedy.”
It was not immediately known who the shooter was.
Stollheimer stated, “We have had two people who have unfortunately lost their lives simply by showing up to work today.”
Officials say that one of the victims is critically ill.
