You know that sometimes, saying “I told ya so” doesn’t work. It’s one of those occasions. Eight men, who 1) entered the United States without permission, 2) crossed our non-existent border to get here, 3) had their “full vetting” done and were hand-waved in, and 4) are linked to ISIS have been arrested.

Fox News confirmed that eight Tajikistan citizens with ties with ISIS have been arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in conjunction with the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force.

According to the source, arrests have taken place in New York City and Los Angeles in recent days.

According to a source familiar with this sting operation, neither U.S. Customs and Border Protection nor the U.S. Department of Homeland Security flagged any derogatory information during the initial processing.

According to Fox News, the federal source said that all suspected terrorists had been “fully vetted”, and nothing had been flagged.

“Fully vetted?” Bull cookies!

Bill Melugin, Fox News correspondent, released the joint FBI/DHS statement on his X feed.

It gets worse. Jennie Taer of the New York Post did initial reporting, including alleged results of a wiretap.

Jennie Taer of the New York Post was first to report on this sting.

Taer’s investigation included a wiretap that revealed the person now arrested was discussing bombs.

“Remember the Boston Marathon [bombing]?” One of The Post’s sources said, “I’m afraid that something similar or worse could happen again.”

You are not paying attention if this does not make you jump out of your skin.

The administration will undoubtedly be humming and hawing about this event. While we should acknowledge the work that was done to capture these goblins, there are some obvious, troubling questions: How did our “vetting process” fail so disastrously? Why were these people admitted vetted or otherwise, when they had clearly entered the country illegally? And, third, and perhaps most disturbing of all, are there any more like them out there?

We can guess the answers: first, there is no “vetting process” to speak of. Second, the Biden administration has been throwing the borders wide open since day one because Trump would do it. Third, we don’t know, but we probably know more than we want to admit.

This whole incident is only positive because they were caught before committing any terrorist acts. Next time, we may not be as lucky. In the past three years, millions of young men of military age have illegally entered the United States. We have no idea what their intentions are or where they plan to go. This data is bad. Imagine a thousand Boston Marathon attacks, across the nation, on the same day. The barbarians have already entered the walls.

This is not going to be a happy ending.
