Outrage Erupts as Woke Connecticut Town Council Disrespects Fallen Trooper in Thin Blue Line Flag Controversy

In recent weeks, flag disputes have been all over the news, thanks to the New York Times’s crazed hit pieces against conservative Supreme Court justice Samuel Alito, and his wife Martha-Ann.

Residents in a small Connecticut town were outraged by the Democrat-run council’s decision to “honor him” after a state trooper died tragically.

Let’s learn a little more about the fallen soldier before we move on to the flag issue:

The funeral of a Connecticut State Trooper killed last week by a hit and run driver at a traffic check in the Northeast was attended by thousands of people, including police officers.

Trooper first class Aaron Pelletier (34), was a loving father and husband of two boys and devoted public servant.

In a speech filled with tears, Dominique, his wife, said: “He was an honorable man, and I’ll make sure that our children know these traits came from him.” “To my honey you weren’t only my husband. You were my home. You were my heart. You were both my protector and my provider. My best friend. My secret keeper. My favorite gossiper.

The Wethersfield Town Council refused to fly the Thin Blue Line Flag, and instead chose to fly the American flag in half-staff… with the Pride flag.

Rich Bailey, a council member (R), asked that the town fly the Thin Blue Line Flag but the council refused to approve his request.

Bailey explained, “In my house, [the flag] represents police. They protect us and are our first line defense.” “They’re here and always there, and always for us.”

Emily Zambrello, a D-member of the council, said that “it represents racism and animosity to many, many individuals.” If you disagree with this and fly at your home and think that it means something for you, then that’s much more positive. It’s not what many people think. The flag is not appropriate for us to fly over our townhall, especially since our flag policy prohibits anything that could be associated with hatred.

The measure was defeated 5-3-1. Five Democrats voted against it, and one abstained, while three Republicans voted for it.

Watch (note that Councilwoman Zambrello, who is a Democrat, is referred to as a Republican in the clip below)

I find it hard to understand how someone could vote to not fly a Thin Blue Line Flag in honor of a law officer who was killed in the course of duty. But then again, this is what the woke left does to show us who they are. So, this kind of disrespect towards a man, who gave his life to serve his community, shouldn’t be surprising.

Others have filled the void created by their cowardly inability to lead:

Alex Oyola Sanchez, who was represented by an attorney, pleaded not guilty to the charges of allegedly killing Pelletier. According to local reports, “he has been convicted of attempted murder and murder in Puerto Rico,” court officials stated.

GoFundMe was set up to help Trooper Pelletier’s wife and children. So far, $602,000 has raised.
