Hard Drugs Discovered Hidden in Buc-ee’s Plushies During Texas Traffic Stop

During a routine traffic check, authorities in Texas discovered drugs hidden inside the plush toys of an iconic and beloved mascot from the Lonestar State.

In a press release, the Fayette County Sherriff’s Office reported that while searching inside the vehicle on July 31 at around 1 am, a deputy discovered marijuana and ecstasy in Buc-ee plush toys.

Officials say the driver consented to the deputy searching the vehicle.

Officials said that during the search the deputy detected an odor of pot coming from the car and found the Buc-ee plushies on the back seat.

The deputy found packages in the toys and discovered that they had been re-stitched. Officials said that the stuffed bears contained packages of marijuana and Ecstasy.

The marijuana was estimated to weigh over two pounds by authorities.

Texas prohibits the possession of more than 4 oz. In Texas, possession of marijuana between 4 oz. A felony is defined as marijuana, which can be punished by imprisonment for 180 days up to 2 years and fines of up to $10,000.

The driver, identified as Lugene D. Davis Jr. of San Antonio (47), claimed to be suffering from chest discomfort after the discovery of drugs.

Officials stated that EMS was dispatched and transported Davis to a hospital in the area for treatment.

Davis was arrested after the marijuana and ecstasy had been seized.
