Putin Escalates Tensions: Issues Bold Nuclear Threat to the West

Vladimir Putin stepped up his bellicose ranting Wednesday and announced that if an attack on the Russian Federation is supported by a nuclear-armed nation, it will be considered as a joint assault.

He said that he also reserved the right to deploy nuclear weapons for the defense of his motherland and Russian ally Belarus.

Putin, the man who started the war in Ukraine, claimed that he ordered his government, because “new sources of military risks and threats for Russia and its allies” had emerged, to review Russia’s nuclear doctrine over a year. The results are:

Putin said that the updated version of the document proposed that any aggression against Russia, by a non-nuclear weapon state, with the participation or the support of a nuclear weapon state, should considered as a combined attack on the Russian Federation.

He said that the only conditions for the launch would be “reliable intelligence about a massive launch and crossing of our state’s border of aero-attack means.”

He also said, “We reserve our right to use nuclear arms if aggression is directed against Russia and Belarus.”

Putin has threatened to use nuclear weapons before, but some people do not believe him.

Sergey Markov, a Russian propagandist, didn’t think the same and believed that the new doctrine had changed the world in a significant way. He wrote this on Telegram.

“In general, this means that Russia can now use nuclear arms against Ukraine under the new doctrine. There is evidence of Ukraine’s aggression against the Kursk region. The nuclear U.S. Britain and France are all on board. Markov stated that it was already possible to strike Kyiv using nuclear weapons.

Markov said that “the threat” of a full-scale war by the West against Russia had prompted Moscow to change its nuclear doctrine.

Putin would be crazy to use nukes. He would risk causing World War III, even though his military struggles with Ukraine. Such an act would have huge consequences, with very little good for the Federation. He invaded Ukraine and it didn’t go well for him.

Putin and Russia are still a danger, even though their words are just that.
