Hillary Clinton (former secretary of state) said that Republicans “were taking orders from Elon Musk”, the richest man on the planet, in response to a failure of continuing measures.
Clinton stated in a post on X’s blog, “Republicans are on track to shut the government down during holidays.”
Clinton said in her post that the Republican Party is taking orders from the richest man on earth and they plan to shut down the government during the holiday season. It will prevent soldiers from receiving their pay and low-income families from getting nutrition benefits before Christmas.
Clinton’s appointment came after Sen. Rand Paul, R-KY, floated the idea of having Musk, co-head of the Department of Government Efficiency, as the House Speaker. This was in response to criticisms of House Leader Mike Johnson, R-LA, reading the CR.
Musk’s X-posts have put tremendous pressure on Republican House Leadership to drop Wednesday’s spending bill.
Musk said in a post on X that Johnson had “rolled out” a new proposal to prevent a shutdown of the government. The bill was reduced from one pound to just an ounce.
Johnson, despite opposition from a majority of Republicans, rushed to bring a bill before the House “to extend spending levels that were enacted this year.”
