A massive wildfire has been sparked in the Pacific Palisades region of Southern California by high winds and dry conditions.
A rapidly spreading wildfire is causing the entire Pacific Palisades community to be told to “evacuate immediately”.
Palisades Fire was first reported at 10:30 am on Tuesday, in the block of North Piedra Morada Drive. The fire was estimated to have spread to 700 acres by 2:10 pm and would continue to grow.
Scott stated, “Fires are burning in the west near Pacific Palisades Highlands, with Rustic Canyon to the east & Topanga Cyn on the West. All of these areas have been placed under an evacuation warning.”
The worst part is that it is believed to be at its very beginning, and the winds are forecast to increase significantly on Tuesday evening.
East flank of the #PalisadesFire is RIPPING. This is my view from 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica. This thing is moving towards Brentwood area and if these winds pick up as advertised tonight we’re looking at potential risk to the Sepulveda Pass, Bel Air, etc if it keeps… pic.twitter.com/36HpguE1aG

The east flank of #PalisadesFire has ripped. The view I have from the 3rd Street Promenade, Santa Monica. If the winds increase as predicted tonight, we could be in danger of Bel Air and Sepulveda Pass if this thing continues to move east. As you can see in the video, there are nonstop sirens.
X has a lot of videos and images from this area. James Woods, an actor from the UK, has shared footage of his home in the path of the fire. After confirming that all members of his family were safe and out, he then posted the footage.
We were blessed to have LA fire and police depts doing their jobs so well. We are safe and out. There are several elementary schools in our neighborhood and there was an enormous community effort to evacuate the children safely. Can not speak more highly of the LA fire and LAPD. pic.twitter.com/bdsSJmvQel

The high winds forced President Joe Biden to cancel his planned trip to Thermal, California on Tuesday afternoon to speak about the creation of new monuments honoring Native American tribes.
This is a big point. CANCEL THE TFR!! https://t.co/RAB6Z5hkFe

Due to his presence, the Temporary Flight Restriction was invoked. This limited the ability of aerial news coverage to cover the situation.
Sunset Boulevard was a scene of chaos as drivers were forced to abandon vehicles and run on foot.
There are around 100 abandoned vehicles on Sunset with pedestrians trying to guide traffic. pic.twitter.com/FJa7Q2sahR
